High School Days

I've been spending more time on Facebook recently and came across loads of old high school friends who really are old! And I am too! Somehow I expected them all to freeze in time where they were when I knew them. I saw a pic of Dan Stebbins at the age we first knew each other, in elementary school, and amazingly enough, that's sometimes how I still think of him in my head. I also checked up on my old high school crush, Joe Martinez. He is writing and producing music as the group Martinez Guthrie. I still am super impressed by him. Anyway, seeing all these faces brings back loads of memories and makes me realize what a wreck I was back in high school. I didn't know anything and had loads of personal issues to deal with. I was just trying to make sense of the world, let alone do my homework and make friends and join clubs and such. I feel like just in the last couple of years have I really figured it all out. I am sure though that I will feel the same way in twenty years. I can't give enough credit to Douglas for the change he has brought to my life and helping me to be where I am now. He has encouraged me and helped me reach my potential. I'll always be greatful to him for that.

Recentemente he pasado más tiempo en la página Facebook y encontré bastante amigos viejos del colegio. ¡Pero también estoy vieja! Por alguna razón pensé que ellos no se suban en años. Vi una foto de Dan Stebbins cuando le conocí al principio, en la escuela primaria, y con sorpresa es como yo pienso en mi mente en él todavía. También miré el hombre en quien tenía interés en ese tiempo, Joe Martínez. Él escribe y produce música en el grupo Martínez Guthrie. Todavía él es un hombre bien impresionante. Bueno, en ver todos estas caras me hace recordar del pasado y darse de cuenta cuantos problemas tenía cuando era joven. No sabía nada y tenía bastante situaciones malas pasando. Solo trataba de encontrar sentido en el mundo y por lo menos hacer mi tarea y tener amigos y estar en grupos y cosas así. Me siento como sólo en los pocos años pasados he encontrado mi lugar en el mundo. Estoy segura que voy a sentir el mismo de este momento de mi vida en viente años. Nunca puedo dar suficiente credito a mi novio, Douglas, por los cambios que trajo a mi vida y por ayudarme estar donde estoy. Me ha motivado y ayudado lograr mis metas y potencial. Siempre se lo agradeczo por todo.

A New Post!

I know it's been a while. I thought last week that I would make a goal to write every week, but the truth is... I don't know if I can stick to it. Let's say that I'll try it.

Here's the short update: I...
· Want to tell everyone - Yes, I came back from El Salvador. Below are some pics from the trip.
· Am taking 16 credits in Spanish and Latin American History at George Mason University.
· Work 12 hour shifts every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night in the Emergency Room at Fairfax Hospital.
· Just accidentally bought a MacBook off the internet and am now trying figure it out. (It's quite the switch, especially as it has a Spanish keyboard on it so some of the keys are in different places. I miss the delete key the most as I used it more than the backspace.)
· Still don't have a car so I walk and take the bus everywhere except some nights and evenings my mom lets me borrow her car. (It's had the nice side effect of losing a little weight.)
· Am trying to save and get everything together to study abroad next fall at the Universidad Centroamericana José Simeón Cañas. (AKA la UCA).
· Talk with Douglas every night. (The laptop has helped make it way cheaper. Thanks Skype!)
· Teach the 6 year olds in Primary at church.

Yo sé que no he escrito en mucho tiempo. La semana pasada tuve la idea que haría la meta de escribir cada semana, pero la verdad es... no sé si puedo pegarme a este objetivo. Decímonos que voy a tratar de hacer lo.

Aquí es la lista de corriente corta: Yo...
· Quiero decirle a todo - Sí, volví de El Salvador. Abajo están algunas fotos del viaje.
· Tomo dieciséis créditos en el español y los estudios de la América latina en la Universidad de George Mason.
· Trabajo doce horas por la noche todos los viernes, sábados y domingos en la sala de emergencia en el hospital de Fairfax.
· Acabo de comprar un MacBook del internet por casualidad y ahora trato de entender como usarlo. (Es un gran cambio, especialmente porque tiene una tecladora designado por la lengua español así algunos de las teclas han cambiado posiciones. Pierdo la tecla de borrar porque la usé mas de la tecla de retroceso.)
· Todavía no tengo carro y por eso ando y tomo el bus a cada rincón menos los tiempos que mi mamá me permita prestar su carro. (Por razón de andar, he rebajado un poco.)
· Trato de ahorrar y organizar todo para que pueda estudiar en la Universidad Centroamericana José Simeón Cañas. (También conocido como la UCA.)
· Hablo con Douglas cada noche. (El portatíl ha hecho éso más fácil. ¡Gracias Skype!)
· Enseño los niños de seis años de edad en la Primaria en la iglesia.
